The advice of generations of cloth diapering mamma’s have shaped the Mother Nature products for seven years of proudly South African manufacture.
This budget pack is the perfect introduction to the Mother Nature range; great if you are interested in trying out the nappies before making a big investment.
Our newest design, the AI3 nappy is a one piece, one size design that adjusts to fit from birth to potty training and any sizes in-between! Our new cut is very slim fitting yet grows outwards to suit larger sized babies up to 3 years of age. The new cover has a hidden pocket inside in which the absorbing insert can be placed for that stay-dry effect while the nappy is in use.
Comfortable: The highly absorbent insert is made from 4 layers of 100% natural fabric: either our thirsty bamboo-cotton toweling or a slim fitting hemp knit, we hand the choice over to you! The cover has breathable waterproofing hidden between 2 soft layers that keep baby unbelievably dry. Our covers are shaped to create an un-bulky nappy and made from very light-weight fabrics.
The Mother Nature secret to success is out:
For an increasing number of our colour options (not all of them yet) we have used a natural outer fabric known for it’s super light-weight effect. We love that this fabric is made from recycled paper – it’s so hard-working, who would have guessed?!
We use high density 100% natural and sustainable Bamboo Toweling which has natural antibacterial properties, feels silky soft and is highly absorbent. New: We have also introduced a sustainable Hemp Knit fabric, also environment friendly and recognized for it’s high absorbency.
Bamboo has many traits that make it better than synthetic fabrics, it is cheaper than silk and cashmere but it has the same comfortable luxurious feel and the ability to drape as they do. Bamboo fabric is very durable, very absorbent and easy to care for. It can be laundered and is biodegradable and the bamboo plant which is a grass and not a tree is one of the planets’ most sustainable resources. Bamboo plantations are great for REDUCING green house gasses. The processing of bamboo into a soft substance that can be combed out and made into yarn is done with the use of natural enzymes.
Hemp is grown without crop spraying; unlike most cotton, which wrecks havoc to the environment. It has a similar finish to cotton but is generally considered more absorbent. Hemp is a highly durable fabric and like bamboo has natural antibacterial properties.
Our tester’s results: In comparing the two fabrics, our testers find the bamboo toweling more absorbent and softer over time but liked the new slim fit of the hemp inserts – especially those with slim babies, light wetters and newborns.
Our fabrics are known for their absorbency and we offer zero compromise on the quality of our products so enjoy using your Mother Nature nappies with confidence in their performance!
Easy Use: Find the studs hidden under the front pocket opening and just pop the bamboo/ hemp insert onto the cover then place your baby on top. If you prefer, you can slot the insert into the pocket opening giving you a neat and stay-dry pocket diaper! Add a biodegradable & flushable nappy liner or fleece nappy liner to catch the solid matter and protect the nappy form becoming heavily stained. Adjust the diagonal side studs according to your baby’s size – as baby grows so does the nappy.
Flexible: a booster pad or extra inserts can be added for extra absorbency;for example at night or for heavy wetters.
Features: stretchy side waist tabs for a snug fit and the bamboo/ hemp insert is removable to allow for separate line/tumble drying. Our new pocket feature keeps baby dry for hours. You can purchase the one size cover and inner bamboo/ hemp inserts (2 per pack) separately saving you more money.
USER TIP: Wash in the evening Hang up to dry overnight then line dry the next day. Try a second spin cycle to squeeze out the excess water.
Biodegradable and flushable nappy liners which protect the nappy from becoming heavily soiled. Urine passes through but the solids are held by the liner. The whole liner is then flushed down the toilet. Mother Nature’s liners are larger and firmer than most, which means they seldom miss the messy bits! The full biodegrading process takes roughly 30 days. Liner Components: Mostly wood pulp + a binder.
Potty training tip: Use these biodegradable & flushable liners to line the bottom of the potty. After use, flush them down the toilet! No need to deal with a messy dirty potty!
Wet only liners can be washed once in a mesh bag or old pillow-case, with the nappies, to extend their use.
Caution: Never flush more than one liner at a time. Letting the liners soak in the toilet for a couple of minutes will allow them to soften and breakdown, making for an easier flush.
Consist of 2 layers of bamboo towelling. Place one or two booster pads under the inner pad of the nappy where an extra boost is needed. This adds to the overall absorbency of the nappy which is especially useful for night nappies and when travelling.
Made from a soft micro fleece these liners can be re-used several times over and washed with the nappies. Because fleece is not absorbent, moisture passes through the liner and is held in the nappy. The fleece liner therefore acts as a “stay-dry” barrier between the baby’s skin and nappy. This makes them great to use at night and for babies prone to nappy rash.
The fleece liners can also be useful during the newborn phase with its runny poos – they will protect the nappy from becoming heavily soiled.
After use: Shake contents into the toilet and place the liner in the nappy bucket.
Washable Fleece Liner Size: 15cmx30cm
